Any member who is considering entering public accounting is advised to contact the CMA Regina office to obtain information on the current requirements (including a Form A), the inicial registration fee, and the Public Practice Annual Fee. Members in public practice must be familiar with the Act, Bylaws and Code of Ethics of The Society of Management Accountants of Saskatchewan, which can be downloaded from the "Bylaws" area. National Standard Under the new National Standard on Public Accounting, which CMA Saskatchewan will implement in the next year, CMAs who wish to enter into public practice will be required to take courses in Auditing and Taxation through distance learning. These courses are being offered in conjunction with the University of Waterloo. Here are links to the course outlines for Taxation I, Auditing II, as well as the link to view the Program Overview. Registration starts every semester. Any CMA who is interested in taking the courses should contact Elena Denis, Assistant Director, Financial Accounting Programs, CMA Ontario, at 1800-387-2991 ext. 184. Please note that members that are currently in public practice will be "grandfathered" in their area of practice. They will only be required to take courses if they wish to practice in another area.
