CMA National Entrance Exam

Objective of CMA Entrance Examination and Emphasis

The objective of the Entrance Examination is to evaluate whether candidates have acquired the CS-1 competencies indicated in the CMA Competency Map. The Entrance Examination will focus mainly on the technical skills of candidates within the accounting, risk management, and financial components of the six functional competencies through the use of multiple-choice questions.  The testing emphasis follows:

  CS-1 Functional Competency       Range
    F1    Strategic Management       5 - 15%
    F2    Risk Management & Governance     10 - 20%
    F3    Performance Management     15 - 25%
    F4    Performance Measurement     15 - 25%
    F5    Financial Management       5 - 15%
    F6    Financial Reporting     15 - 25%
